Dr. Williams is an established freelance writer with publications in EQUUS, Young Rider, Cat Fancy, Dog Fancy, Image Magazine, and many more. She has also published a book, How to Start and Run a Rescue and has a second book in press. She's written on a variety of topics: equine behavior, equine health care, feline behavior, canine behavior, Texas County music, animal rescue and much more.

Dr. Williams graduated with a BS from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State) in Psychology, a Masters in Animal Science from Texas A&M in 2001 and a PhD in Animal Science from Texas A&M in 2002. While at A&M, she conducted research on equine imprint training and clicker training with horses. She also assisted in research involving transport of elephants and large cats (lions, tigers, etc).

Dr. Williams founded and ran Lone Star Equine Rescue until 2005 and since then she has run Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society. She appeared on ABC's Nightline on August 14, 2009 and has appeared on Untamed and Uncut on Animal Planet, Horse Sense on RFD-TV and several location news broadcasts. She's spoken at the American Quarter Horse Association annual convention and the American Horse Council annual convention. She's also a Certified Humane Investigator.
